Women in the Quran: First Session

Asalamu Alaikum dear sisters,

I hope you all are doing well insha'Allah! :)

This is what you all have been waiting for...

Mark your calendars because our bi-weekly ladies' only halaqas are starting this Tuesday, Sep. 24! They will take place every other Tuesday from 3 p.m.-4:15 p.m insha'Allah in Sub I, rm 3311. The halaqas will be led by Hanaa Unus.

Speaker's Biography:

Sister Hanaa Unus, Co-Author (with Mohammad Hag Magid) of Reflections on the Quran: A Ramadan Reader, holds a B.A. in Social Work from George Mason University and is a Masters Candidate of Islamic Studies at Hartford Seminary with a focus on Interfaith Dialogue.

First Session:

How do we maintain a strong relationship with the Quran? Sister Hanaa will be discussing this in the first halaqa session. Since Hajj season is coming up, she will also be discussing about Hajira (a.s.)! At the end of the session, we will be having a discussion on the topic. Our halaqas provide a friendly, non-judgmental platform for sisters to share and discuss their thoughts on the topics.

Spread the word insha'Allah! All are welcome! Invite all your Muslim and Non-Muslim friends and any sisters you see on campus! :)

Jazaka'Allah Khair and we look forward to seeing you there!
